    I’ll Take That One

It is Memorial Day 2018. I have thanked men and women, alive or dead for their service. Thank you again. I woke up this morning with tears streaming down my face. They turned to sobs, heartrending sobs. It went on for quite a while, until I could hardly breathe. Bear in mind, I rarely cry. I realised I must have had some silent nightmare, bright and piercing in its intensity, but that one doesn’t remember. Other than John having died June 5th, 2015, so that date was looming, I knew it wasn’t that. It was gnawing at me and the physical pain was intense. The ER? No, this was strictly…

    Blown Away – Energy Vampires

I wasn’t going online this evening. Something, that my son Daniel just called cathartic for me, happened. Last week, I bought a book written by Dr. Christiane Northrup. I haven’t had time to read it until this weekend – far too busy with others’ challenges. When I say that this book is the most stunning book I have read since Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl MD, and when I give you the title, you will understand why. It is called Dodging Energy Vampires: An Empath’s Guide to Evading Relationships That Drain You and Restoring Your Health and Power. From the moment I started reading it, my head was…

    About the 2018 Winter Olympics

What are you doing with your time these days? Watching the Winter Olympics was almost addictive. I recorded all of them, so I could fast forward past commercials and events that were rather tedious to watch, like the skiing that took hours and hours. I had my favourites. Figure skating is the best for me and I was amazed at their performances.  I, who sprained my ankle at the one and only lesson I had. It was all very glorious and exciting. Truly, I couldn’t grasp how they stood on their skates, let alone move on the ice and leap into the air with a quadruple bound! Many years ago,…

    Take Back Your Power

Some resentments appear to be justified or it’s the holding onto them that causes the trouble. In any group of people, when the question is asked, “Do you have any resentments?” most will hold up their hands. Like anger, it is there. Feeding it is detrimental to one’s overall health and wellbeing. In her book, Each Day a New Beginning, which is the first daily affirmations book for women, Karen Casey writes, “IF  YOU  HOLD RESENTMENT TO A PERSON YOU ARE BOUND TO THAT PERSON WITH BANDS OF STEEL.” Go on, read it again. It is the truth. In most cases the person to whom the resentment is targeted doesn’t…

    Another Spiritual Awakening?

Remember when I told you I have a grasshopper brain? This is proof. I am all over the place as that is how the past week had morphed! Currently I am so hyped, I just couldn’t go to sleep. I went to bed at a reasonable time, took some sleep aid (natural stuff) just in case, hugged my lamb pillow (what’s your point?), and because my cats are in a snotty, snobby mood and my bed isn’t good enough for them, I need something to hug. However, Lambie just wasn’t doing it. I lay beside her for an hour and then realized I just had to get up and write.…

    We Just Never Know

Having been in my various professions for so long, there have been times when I felt I was going nowhere and that my attempts at helping people help themselves was fruitless. Being the therapists’ therapist, I heard this kind of doubting oneself, often. I found the answer to my own dilemmas by becoming a free spirit, paying compliments to strangers, admiring and reading tattoos, loving seeing people of all ages in love and telling them they made my day. You know.  You’ve heard it all before and that is because it is so much a part of who I am. Meeting the Woman Inside It all started early in 1980…
